Property price growth slows as capital's market cools

Prices of apartments across the country fell by 0.6 per cent during October, the first monthly fall for almost two years, according to CSO figures

Official figures show that house price growth across the country slowed for the sixth month in a row in October.

Prices of homes and apartments were 8.4 per cent higher than in October last year, according to the Central Statistics Office. This compares with 8.5 per cent in September and the 2018 peak of 13.3 per cent in April.

The monthly increase in prices of 0.3 per cent nationally was the smallest since April 2017.
