Profits at DPL fall by 20 per cent

Pre-tax profits at the DPL Group, the family-owned builders’ merchants, fell by almost 20 per cent last year despite a significant increase in sales, writes Ian Kehoe.

The Dublin group made a pre-tax profit of €5.2 million in 2006, down from €6.1 million for the year before, according to newly-filed accounts.

Turnover increased from €89.7 million in 2005 to €107.2 million last year.
