Private hospital in St James’s gets go-ahead

Work could start later this year on a 196-bedroom private hospital in the grounds of St James’s Hospital in Dublin, after planners approved the development.

Work could start later this year on a 196-bedroom private hospital in the grounds of St James’s Hospital in Dublin, after planners approved the development.

Fergal Mulchrone, head of the Synchrony consortium that is behind the project, said he was ‘‘hopeful’’ that construction work would start before the end of this year. The hospital is one of a number planned under the government’s co-location strategy.
