Price hikes boost Smurfit Kappa shares

Shares in cardboard company Smurfit Kappa rose nearly three per cent today on its plans to raise prices in Europe.

Shares in cardboard company Smurfit Kappa rose nearly three per cent today on its plans to raise prices in Europe.

The shares rose as much as 2.9 per cent to a high of €6.38 after it said yesterday it planned to increase prices for recycled containerboard by €100 a ton.

The ISEQ index overall was up by 0.55 per cent.
