The public relations industry has had consistent growth but, because of the economic turndown, it could face problems next year, writes Catherine O’Mahony.

The Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII) had its best year ever in 2007, according to chief executive Gerry Davis. It was an active year for client pitches, with many agencies finding they had more work than they could handle.
