In April, Jimmy Deenihan, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, launched Ireland's first Massive Open Online Course (Mooc) on the theme of Irish identity.

The Exploring Irish Identity Mooc will present a broad overview of how history, geography and culture have interacted to create divergent, and sometimes contradictory, ideas of what it means to be Irish. The course should be of particular interest to people living in Ireland as well as the worldwide community...
