Ewan MacKenna: Nelson Mandela's death has reminded us that Irish rugby was frequently on the wrong side of the apartheid argument

At first glance it seemed fitting that Munster, with their apparent semi-copyright on moving moments in Irish sport, were to the fore when it came to remembering Nelson Mandela here. Just a week ago, what started out as a moment's silence quickly broke into a minute's applause as Thomond Park realised such an extraordinary life would be better celebrated than mourned.
