Analysts expect positive news from two of Ireland’s major lenders this week, despite fears over the medium-term effects of rising interest rates.

Irish Life and Permanent (ILP), the mortgage lender and life assurance company, will report half-year results on Tuesday. Specialist lender Anglo Irish Bank will issue its first-ever trading statement on the same day, which will provide investors with guidance ahead of its year end at the end of the month.
