Portugal approves budget plan with reduced spending

The Portuguese government approved its budget plan for the 2013-2016 period, according to a statement handed to reporters in Lisbon today after a cabinet meeting.

The Portuguese government approved its budget plan for the 2013-2016 period, according to a statement handed to reporters in Lisbon today after a cabinet meeting.

The government plans to reduce its primary spending limit by 3.2 per cent in 2013 and to lower the limit for total spending by 2.1 per cent.
