The star Irish lot in Sotheby's British and Irish sale this month is Roderic O'Conor's savage Red Rocks and Sea, the largest and most impressive of a series of 30 seascapes executed in the last two years of the 19th century.
O'Conor gives us wild Finistere on the Brittany coast as a crescendo of pulsing colour - pink granite, and turquoise and violet foam-flecked sea.
