Poolbeg incinerator to miss funding deadline

The National Finance Development Agency has signalled it does not expect the €350 million Poolbeg incinerator project to have funding in place by next week's deadline.

The National Finance Development Agency has signalled that it does not expect the long-running €350 million Poolbeg incinerator project to have funding in place by next week's deadline.

The NDFA is advising Dublin City Council, as one of the joint partners with US energy firm Covanta, on the project. Covanta has complained in recent months about the impact that economic instability within Europe was having on their ability to raise finance for the project.
