Poolbeg delay blamed on euro crisis

US energy giant Covanta has blamed the economic crisis for its failure to raise finance for the controversial €350 million Poolbeg incinerator in Dublin.

US energy giant Covanta has blamed the economic crisis for its failure to raise finance for the controversial €350 million Poolbeg incinerator in Dublin.

Senior executives at the company said that eurozone instability and the banking crisis had affected its ability to source third-party finance. Covanta said the problems had cast a shadow over Covanta's investment in the Dublin project.
