Independent TD Stephen Donnelly is still getting used to the way things work in Leinster House, but he is determined to make a difference, writes Niamh Connolly.

Stephen Donnelly, independent TD for Wicklow, confesses that he still finds life as a Dáil deputy a bit like the bizarre world of Alice in Wonderland.

"Alice jumps down the hole, falls for a long time - that's the campaign - but then she hits the bottom, and she's in a world where everything is different," he says, referring to getting elected and seeing political life from the inside.
