Eoghan Murphy, a Fine Gael councillor on Dublin City Council, will be standing in the next general election in Dublin South East.
Before his election as a councillor, Murphy, 28, worked as a consultant on international arms control with the United Nations and other organisations in London, Geneva and Vienna.
He also worked as a speechwriter for a Vienna-based body that monitors covert nuclear weapon-testing. He is single and lives in Ringsend.
