Plans for ice-skating rink in Dun Laoghaire

The Dun Laoghaire harbour in Dublin is set to get its own ice-skating rink and outdoor activity area, writes Kieron Wood.

The Dun Laoghaire Harbour Company is seeking tenders for firms to design, build, operate and maintain an ice skating and roller-skating rink and a children’s playground or outdoor adventure area in the harbour area.

With more than a million walkers a year using the upgraded East Pier and around 650,000 passengers arriving annually on the Stena ferry service from Wales, consultants are said to be working on ‘‘a whole raft of projects’’, including...
