Planning permissions fall 14.1% - CSO

Planning permissions were granted for 1,851 dwelling units in the fourth quarter of 2012, compared with 2,156 units for the same period in 2011, a decrease of 14.1 per cent.

In total for 2012 there were 14,407 planning permissions granted.

Planning permissions were granted for 1,851 dwelling units in the fourth quarter of 2012, compared with 2,156 units for the same period in 2011, a decrease of 14.1 per cent, according to the Central Statistics Office.

In total for 2012 there were 14,407 planning permissions granted, of which 3,643 were for dwellings. That compares to 4,767 planning permissions granted in 2011, of which 4,767 were dwellings. In 2004 there were 50,272 planning permissions granted, with 27,512 granted for dwellings.
