Planning Grafton Street’s future

Treasury Holdings, Senator David Norris and the managing director of the mobile phone company 3 are among those who have made submissions to Dublin City Council on the future of Grafton Street, the capital’s most famous shopping street.

In its submission, Treasury Holdings states that a survey in the Dublin City Shopper, a publication of the Centre for Retail Studies in UCD, shows that the assumption by the council that Bewley’s Cafe is a major ‘‘magnet’’ on Grafton Street which attracts a significant number of shoppers to the area is incorrect.
