A planning application will soon be submitted for a €7 million service station on the M7 motorway outside Moneygall, which is, Barack Obama's ancestral home in Co Offaly.

Planning go-ahead for Obama M7 plaza

Supermac's founder Pat McDonagh will submit a planning application to Tipperary North County Council within the next fortnight for a €7 million service station on the M7 motorway outside Moneygall, the Co Offaly village that is the ancestral home of US president Barack Obama.

The planned Barack Obama Plaza would create 75 jobs during the construction phase and 50 permanent jobs once open.
