Ryanair shareholders approved the airline’s purchase of 175 Boeing 737-800 aircraft at an extraordinary general meeting today.

The purchases will take place over a five year period at and will amount to the biggest capital purchase ever by an Irish firm. A list prices the aircraft are worth $1.6 billion.
