‘Water poverty’ can be averted for less than €50 million, ministers told
With charging for water due to begin in less than a fortnight, ministers have been presented with a last-minute plan to slash water charges for the lowest income groups and eliminate “water poverty”.
A draft plan, seen by The Sunday Business Post, has been circulated among Labour ministers and discussed with some of their Fine Gael colleagues, including Finance Minister Michael Noonan.
