Founded in 1849 by two German immigrants to Brooklyn, Pfizer makes some of the biggest-selling drugs in the world.

Its portfolio of pharmaceuticals includes cholesterol pill Lipitor, Viagra, Cardura, Celebrex, Diflucan and Accupro. It has operations in 150 countries including five sites in Ireland. Its Dublin sterile manufacturing plant employs 240 and has been in operation since 1972.

Its Little Island pharmaceutical ingredient plant employs 200 in Cork.
