Average asking prices for residential properties are now 52 per cent below their 2007 peak, according to the 2011 review by property website Daft.ie. Prices for homes around the country fell by an average of 7.7 per cent between September and December last year, and by 18 per cent over the course of 2011. This took the average asking price to just over €175,000, down from the 2007 peak of €366,000.
