Permanent TSB records €922m pre-tax loss

UPDATE: Permanent TSB records a 2012 pre-tax loss of €922 million with a fifth of its homeloans in arrears; CEO says Cyprus crisis hasn't affected deposits.

Over a fifth of mortgage holders are in arrears

Permanent TSB has recorded a pre-tax loss of €922 million for 2012 according to its latest financial accounts.

The figure includes provision for impairments of €891m and net exceptional gains of €58m.

The accounts also reveal that over a fifth of Permanent TSB's homeloans are in arrears, with 15 per cent in arrears by at least three months. 5.5 per cent are in arrears under 90 days.
