Pensions: Pensions levy to exceed €2bn this year
As the budget looms, calls are growing for Michael Noonan to abolish the pension levy.
The private pension levy has been in place for four years and, while there has been much consternation about water rates and other taxes, the fact remains that the government has raised more from this levy than it will do from many of its other so-called austerity measures.
