Proposals for an overhaul of the pensions, gratuities, and severance payments to council chiefs are to go before the Dáil before the summer, *The Sunday Business Post* has learned. The government is to revise the pension pay-offs to top-earning city and council managers to reduce the exchequer's future liabilities.

The new pension terms will end the immediate payment of pension and lump sums to local authority managers before they reach their pension age....
