Penny Dreadful seeks €30m in tax break funds

The producers of Penny Dreadful, the latest big-budget television drama to be filmed in Ireland, are aiming to raise €33 million from tax break investors.

The producers of Penny Dreadful, the latest big-budget television drama to be filmed in Ireland, are aiming to raise €33 million from tax break investors.

Octagon Films has hired accountants Mazars and Clancy & Associates to raise the money under the Section 481 tax relief for film and television production. If completed, the funding round will be one of the largest undertaken in recent years.
