Penneys pay rise on cards

More than 3,000 workers at Penneys, the low-cost Irish fashion retailer, are in line for a 3 per cent pay hike following a recommendation by the Labour Court.

The court wrote to management and unions in recent days recommending an immediate pay rise. The decision came after a private Labour Court hearing at the start of this month.

Managers at the company received a 2 per cent pay increase earlier this year, but lower-paid workers did not...
