Penneys owner planning further Irish investment

The owner of Penneys is to re-double investment in the Irish market in the next two years, the company has told The Sunday Business Post.

Primark, owner of Penneys, last week bought the former offices of the Irish Independent for €6 million.

The owner of Penneys is to re-double investment in the Irish market in the next two years, the company has told The Sunday Business Post.

John Bason, the chief financial officer of Associated British Foods (ABF), which owns Penneys and Irish-based Primark, said the growth in Ireland would not be achieved by opening new stores but by expanding the ones it already owns.
