Peace process the only option

A mere two months ago, a deal to allow political progress in the North appeared tantalisingly close. Now there is a view put forward by some that the entire enterprise has been at best an honourable failure, at worst a colossal mistake, and that no progress is possible for the foreseeable future.

Against this background it is necessary to step back and look at the wider picture.
