Some of the newest hotels to open in Dublin this year have added to the city’s stock of pod-style bedrooms at a time when the industry says there is still a shortage of more than 1,000 rooms. But most of these latest pods are a far cry from budget hotels or compact accommodation pioneered by the Japanese.
