Payments to barristers acting for the Director of Public Prosecutions in the High Court rose by 18 per cent last year, despite an overall cut in payments to counsel.
According to the DPP's annual report for 2010 published last week, barristers in the High Court were paid €1.5 million last year, compared to €1.3 million in 2009.
