Pay boost expected for semi-state executives

Pay increases for executives in semi-state organisations are likely to be recommended in a report to be presented to finance minister Brian Cowen.

Pay increases for executives in semi-state organisations are likely to be recommended in a report to be presented to finance minister Brian Cowen.

However, it is believed that ministers, judges and senior civil servants will not be awarded across-the-board pay increases. The review group on higher remuneration in the public service is chaired by C&C group chairman Tony O'Brien. Cowen is likely to bring the group's report to the cabinet by mid-July.
