Overspend of €20m for consultancy on Poolbeg

Dublin City Council has paid more than four times its own tender contract price for client services and PR on the stalled €350 million Poolbeg incinerator.

Dublin City Council has paid more than four times its own tender contract price for client services and PR on the stalled €350 million Poolbeg incinerator, according to figures obtained by this newspaper.

The original EU contract for client representation and public relations, published in 2007, was valued at €6.9 million, but this has now almost quadrupled to €25.7 million.
