Over €9.1 million in EU funding secured for third-levels and SMEs

Irish universities and institutes of technology have secured over €9.1 million in EU research and innovation funding.

Irish universities and institutes of technology have secured over €9.1 million in EU research and innovation funding. The funding will support 18 research organisations, including nine SMEs, some of which are spin-outs from higher education institutes.

The funding will be provided by Horizon 2020, a seven year programme with nearly €80 billion of funding, which is backing the Marie Curie Actions programme jointly operated by the Irish Universities Association and the Irish Research Council.
