Over 40 people apply for ombudsman position

More than 40 people have thrown their hat into the ring for the post of the state’s next financial services ombudsman, writes Emma Kennedy.

The current ombudsman, Joe Meade, will retire on January 2, his 60th birthday, after nearly five years in the role. Would-be replacements for Meade had to lodge their applications for the position with the Public Appointments Service by November 26.
