The Department of Health has commissioned almost two consultants’ reports a month for the past ten years, according to new figures.

The Department of Health has commissioned almost two consultants’ reports a month for the past ten years, according to new figures.

A total of 209 reports were commissioned between the start of 1999 and the end of last year - the equivalent of one report every two-and-a-half weeks. They included high profile reports into incidences of cancer misdiagnosis and the infection of haemophiliacs with HIV and Hepatitis C.
