Cinema: Wild Japan Season, Irish Film Centre, Dublin, April 7-12.

A collection of eight films from the cult Japanese cinema of the 1960s and 1970s will be screened from next Thursday.

Many of them will be shown in new 35mm prints. This genre inspired much of Quentin Tarantino's work, and many of its best known films were virtually unheard of outside Japan until the DVD market brought them to a wider global audience.
