Theatre: The Ha’penny Bridge, by Alastair McGuckian, Point Theatre, Dublin, until July 2.

The Ha'penny Bridge is the musical equivalent of Sean O'Casey meets Mills & Boon.

It's the story of a Dublin lass, Molly (Annalene Beechey), from a tenement on Gardiner Street, who falls for George (Stephen Ashfield), a sprightly English lad over from Old Blighty to buy greyhounds from her father, Peadar (John Conroy), in 1922 during the Civil War.
