Tony O’Reilly has pledged shares in Waterford Wedgwood worth almost €60 million as part of credit facilities ahead of propping up the company’s ailing finances this month.

O’Reilly, Waterford’s chairman, has agreed to underwrite the group’s latest fundraising, which aims to raise €100 million for day-today working capital through a preference share issue.
