Oprah Winfrey buys stake in Weight Watchers
Media magnate joins the board of the weight loss company and will develop future products
Oprah Winfrey has bought a 10 per cent stake in Weight Watchers International.
The actress and talk show host has bought nearly 6.4 million shares at Friday’s closing price of $6.79 per share for $43.2 million, Weight Watchers said.
Since then shares jumped by 37 per cent to $9.30 in premarket trading this morning.
