Fine Gael is examining the sale of a manuscript of James Joyce’s novel, Finnegan’s Wake, to the National Library by a former consultant to the Department of Arts, Sports and Tourism.

AIB purchased the Joyce manuscript last year on behalf of the National Library from the former director of ReJoyce centenary celebrations, Laura Barnes, through the auction house Sotheby’s for €1.17 million.
