Opposition grows to co-located hospitals

A shadow has been cast over private hospitals being built on the same site as public ones. The crux is a new contract for hospital consultants, reports Aileen O’Meara.

At a meeting organised in Dublin last week by t h e n ew Doctors Alliance for Better Public Healthcare, a group of politicians, journalists and doctors heard impassioned criticism of the plan to build eight private hospitals in the grounds of major public hospitals.
