Opera festival kicks off with a bang
Wexford Festival Opera, the country’s most popular international music event, will launch its 55th festival next Wednesday with a spectacular fireworks display at the town’s quayside.
More than 20,000 people, including many from abroad, are expected to attend. The festival has built an international reputation for quality productions of lesser known and historically interesting operas which are not part of the popular repertoire.
