Irish mobile software firm Openet could be set for a long-awaited and potentially lucrative initial public offering (IPO) on New York's Nasdaq after seeing off a patent infringement case originally brought by Israeli firm Amdocs two years ago.

The Enterprise Ireland-backed company, which makes bill-tracking and customer loyalty software for mobile devices and has some of the world's biggest telecommunications companies as customers, had been planning to float on the stock exchange in mid-2011.
