Online shopping websites are reporting big growth in the numbers of Irish parents seeking to make savings for baby gear on the internet.

Ebay, arguably the world’s most used online market, said baby gear was one of the fastest growing categories on its Irish site.

Jens Lantzen, manager of the German website www.kiddies24.de, said 1,300 Irish customers had purchased baby gear from that site since the beginning of the year.
