There are very few business acquisitions taking place in Ireland right now. But Brian O’Neill, who is heading a management buyout consortium at the Irish operation of Worldspreads, a financial spread-betting firm, said he was not losing any sleep.

O’Neill, Worldspreads’ chief operating officer, said he did not believe there would be some magical turnaround in the Irish economy in the coming weeks, but said he was happy with what he was buying...
