One in ten households does not have a television licence, according to An Post.

A spokeswoman for An Post said that about 11 or 12 per cent of households have no licence.
Under the Wireless Telegraphy Act, a licence is required if you have a television in your home.
‘‘Any apparatus capable of receiving and transmitting a signal is liable to have a licence. Mobile phones are exempt at present,” she said.
