OMI’s €1.7m pre-tax loss

Cork firm Optical Metrology Innovations (OMI) made a pre-tax loss of €1.7 million last year, but said it had made ‘‘significant progress’’ in product development.

Cork firm Optical Metrology Innovations (OMI) made a pre-tax loss of €1.7 million last year, but said it had made ‘‘significant progress’’ in product development.

The company was founded in 1999 and operates in the lucrative semiconductor equipment sector.

It is still at an early stage of development and had turnover of just €180,500 in 2005. At the end of last year, it had an accumulated loss of €4.8 million.
