Printer manufacturer Olivetti has failed in its High Court bid to force its former Irish distributor to lodge its legal costs in a battle over more than 700 allegedly faulty printers.

Oltech (Systems) Ltd was the Irish distributor of Olivetti office equipment for 20 years. In 2009, Oltech ordered 707 colour printers from Olivetti UK Ltd.

Oltech supplied 381 of the printers to Paddy Power Ltd, and agreed to replace toner cartridges as part of the contract.
