Oireachtas media awards celebrate 40 years of RnaG

The Irish-language media in radio, television and newspapers have successfully marked out their own distinctive area, writes Siobhán Brett.

This week's annual Oireachtas media awards ceremony is set to be more of a celebration than usual. As well as honouring the best contributions of broadcasters, actors, journalists and programme-makers in Irish language media in the last year, the event will mark 40 years of RTE Raidió na Gaeltachta (RnaG) and 50 years of RTE television.
